Globacom Limited, a Nigerian multinational operating in the telecommunications sector, announced earlier this week that it had entered into a partnership agreement with the Israeli company Ceragon Networks, a network equipment supplier. This agreement aims to offer the Nigerian telephone operator an extension of its network, but also to have state-of-the-art technology.
In its statement, Globacom said it wants to build the biggest and best telecommunications network in Africa. With this in mind, the document points out, this agreement will significantly increase network capacity and improve service delivery to customers. Ceragon will provide a customized solution that covers rural areas of the country.
“Ceragon will do everything to help Globacom to strengthen its network but also to be fit for the 5G race. We partner with our customers to provide customized, turnkey solutions that best consider and meet their current and future needs,” said Doron Arazi, CEO of Ceragon Networks.
Globacom, known as Glo, is Nigeria’s second-largest telephone operator behind South Africa’s MTN.
