Abidjan: The Conference on Tourism and Hotel Investment in Africa (CITHA) 2024
The Conference on Tourism and Hotel Investment in Africa (CITHA), organized by the international consulting firm Voltere by Egis, will be held on February 29, 2024 at the Noom Hôtel in Abidjan (Côte d’Ivoire). Under the theme “Voir l’Afrique en Grand”, this 4th edition will be an opportunity for more than 200 experts to exchange views on topics related to investment and the structuring of hotel and tourism projects in Africa.
According to the latest data from the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO), after a period of post-Covid-19 convalescence, the year 2023 marks a significant acceleration in the recovery of the tourism sector on a global scale, and more particularly in Africa. The continent recorded a remarkable 60 million international visitors, demonstrating resilience and positive momentum. Projections for 2024 also look promising.
Against this backdrop, the 4th edition of the Conference on Tourism and Hotel Investment in French-speaking Africa (CITHA), organized by Voltere by Egis, a leading consultancy firm specializing in the tourism, hotel and leisure industries, represents a unique and strategic framework for exchange. Scheduled for February 29, 2024, at the Noom Hôtel Abidjan, its theme will be “Seeing Africa in a big way”, and it will bring together over 200 experts from across the continent.
“By exploring the theme “Seeing Africa Big”, we aim to make the keys to tourism and hotel development more comprehensible, highlighting the positive impact of these sectors on the regional economy,” says Ninon Lamothe, Africa Director at Voltere by Egis.
CITHA 2024 is a unique opportunity to explore the key role of transport infrastructure in tourism development, while addressing the challenges of financing projects in the geopolitical context of West Africa, and training personnel in the sector. CITHA will also present the prospects for product evolution, from mixed-use to lifestyle, via the cultural and creative industries.
In the wake of the African Cup of Nations (CAN) 2023, a major sporting event on the continent hosted by Côte d’Ivoire, CITHA will be a privileged platform for discussing the synergies between the development of the tourism and hospitality industry and the positive impact resulting from major events that position Africa as a leading destination for both leisure and business tourism and events.
