Louis DIAKITÉ, a hardworking and visionary man, created AFRIPA TELECOM in 1994 in Cotonou, Benin. Specializing in telecommunications, the company became a leading provider of internet services and mobile networks in West Africa. AFRIPA TELECOM paved the way for developing cellular networks in Benin (the first in West Africa), Mali, Niger, and Sierra Leone.
In the 90s, the Internet was still early in Africa. However, the first applications of voice transportation over the Internet, which resulted in a significant decrease in telecommunications costs, offered a golden opportunity for pioneering companies in the sector, such as AFRIPA TELECOM, which experienced rapid growth.
The 2000s saw the expansion of AFRIPA TELECOM with 17 subsidiaries (South Africa, Benin, Côte d’Ivoire, Mali, Ghana, Guinea, Congo, Central African Republic, Senegal, Nigeria, Angola, Democratic Republic of Congo, Burkina Faso, Togo, Gabon, Cameroon, and France) and over 200 employees.
In 2004, AFRIPA TELECOM opened its capital to a financial group that became the majority shareholder, marking the beginning of a new chapter. Six years later, AFRIPA TELECOM became ALINK TELECOM. With over 20 years of expertise in data transmission, IP telephony, and high-speed internet, ALINK TELECOM offers services centered around three main activities: connectivity (VSAT solutions, local radio loop, fiber optics); IP convergence (voice, IPBX, video conferencing); and international call termination.
By the end of 2017, mobile internet had grown extensively in Africa, and new challenges had to be faced with the exponential growth of data to be processed and stored. To meet the market’s needs, ALINK TELECOM began reorganizing its offerings and organization.
In early 2018, ALINK TELECOM changed its name to SANCFIS (Sanctuary for Information and Service) to complete its transition. Today, SANCFIS (Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Côte d’Ivoire, Ghana, Guinea Conakry, Mali, Niger, and Senegal) has eight subsidiaries offering five lines of services:
● Civil and Military Cybersecurity

● Identity & Biometrics
