WINDHOEK: 50TH OIA CONFERENCE AND GENERAL ASSEMBLY
The 50th Conference of the African Insurance Organisation (AIO) will be held from June 01 to 05, 2024 in Windhoek, Namibia. The theme of the 50th AIO Conference is “Coping with increasing natural catastrophes in Africa”.
For this occasion, a group of internationally renowned Experts have been assembled, who will participate in discussions on the latest technology trends and best practices in the insurance industry.
The Conference will also offer numerous opportunities to network and exchange ideas with insurance industry professionals from around the world.
Focusing on the evolution of the African insurance industry and the challenges we face with climate change, Namibia will offer you the desert experience with its huge dunes, the land valley experience with amazing canyons and the safari experience with the abundance of wildlife.

PRESENTATION
The African Insurance Organization (AIO), founded in 1972, is a non-governmental organization recognized by many African governments. Following the Headquarters Agreement signed by the Government of Cameroon, the AIO’s Permanent Secretariat has been established in Cameroon.
AIO STRUCTURE
The African Insurance Organization comprises a General Secretariat, headed by a Secretary General, an Executive Committee, chaired by the President, and the General Assembly, which is the supreme body of the Organization.
OAA’S NEW STRATEGIC PLAN
The African Insurance Organisation (AIO) was originally created to develop a healthy insurance industry in Africa and promote inter-African cooperation in insurance and reinsurance. Today, the world has changed. For this reason, we conducted a detailed study to better understand current trends and align them with the needs of our members, which led to the development of the new strategic plan.
The study also revealed that AIO members and non-members alike unanimously consider AIO to be, in essence, the representative body for the insurance industry in Africa. We therefore have a responsibility to become a center of expertise and to stand up for the interests of the African insurance industry.
