Orange Côte d’Ivoire, a multiservice operator committed to the digital and entrepreneurial ecosystem on a long-term basis, presented the investment fund, Orange Ventures, to Ivorian startups via its Orange Fab accelerator.
With an investment capacity of 350 million euros, including 50 million euros for the Africa and Middle East region, Orange Ventures recently launched its seed investment initiative in countries where Orange operates. It is in this context that this Orange Group fund is returning to Côte d’Ivoire in search of young Ivorian start-ups among the most promising in order to strengthen their expansion capacities and accelerate their development. It was June 30 and July 1, 2021 at Orange Digital Center in Le Plateau.
During these plenary and individual information sessions, Orange Fab Côte d’Ivoire presented Orange Ventures, a technology investment fund that finances innovative start-ups in Orange’s areas of expertise (connectivity and network, business services, cybersecurity, and Fintech) and beyond (consumer platforms, E-gaming, Edtech, Health, etc.). The objective of this investment vehicle is to target start-ups offering answers to fundamental market challenges and to promote the emergence of future technological champions in the service of the transition to an increasingly digital and responsible world. The companies in which Orange Ventures invest will also benefit from the group’s resources and expertise and will be able to take advantage of its international network to accelerate their growth.
The startup ecosystem is dynamic and evolving in Côte d’Ivoire. Entrepreneurs are looking for investors to support their development and it is on the strength of this observation that the Orange group presents them with this investment fund, Orange Ventures, which operates throughout the world and which since the beginning of this year invests from the first phases of company development, namely the so-called seed phase. It’s about encouraging innovation, supporting local technology arenas and promoting champions.
This initiative, which recorded the presence of start-ups, Orange Côte d’Ivoire management, ecosystem players and the press, made it possible to present on the one hand the Orange Ventures fund, its operation and its investment criteria, and on the other hand to strengthen the positioning of Orange Digital Center as a place of reference in the Ivorian digital and entrepreneurial ecosystem
