Trade fair: IATF 2021 postponed

Initially scheduled for September 6 to 12, 2021, the second edition of the Intra-African Trade Fair (Iatf 2021) is now scheduled for December 8 to 14. A decision taken by Afreximbank, organizer of the event, in common agreement with the African Union (AU) and Rwanda, which hosts the event. This, during the extraordinary meeting of the Advisory Board of the Iatf 2021 which took place on March 18, 2021 in Cairo.

For the bank, due to the Covid-19 health crisis, it is first necessary to allow good vaccine coverage on the continent in order to guarantee a good holding of the event. “Our intention is that all participants take full advantage of the abundant networking, trade and investment opportunities that will arise at Iatf 2021. Despite the Covid-19 pandemic, there is a lot of enthusiasm for the event. . The additional time given to preparatory activities and the efficient deployment of Covid-19 vaccines will allow Iatf 2021 to be held on favorable terms, giving more confidence to participating governments, exhibitors, buyers, conference delegates and to other visitors, ”said Olusegun Obasanjo, Chairman of the Iatf 2021 Advisory Board and former President of Nigeria.

In line with the African Continental Free Trade Area (Zlecaf), Iatf 2021 should make it possible to highlight the continent’s trade potential in front of global players while strengthening economic and trade integration.
